Should I See a Fertility Doctor?
You’ve tried to get pregnant, but wonder if it’s time to take a different approach.
When to Take the Next Step
Fertility is primarily age dependent. Women who have tried unsuccessfully to conceive for at least a year, and are under the age of 35, should see a health care provider. As women age, the chances of achieving pregnancy decrease, so it is important for women over the age of 35 to seek medical advice if she has tried unsuccessfully for more than six months. A woman over the age of 40, or with a medical condition such as infrequent periods should seek help of a fertility doctor.
Underlying Causes of Infertility
Seeking the care of a fertility doctor helps you identify any medical conditions contributing to your ability to become pregnant. Our physicians are skilled in diagnosing fertility problems, and guiding our patients through the process with care and expertise.
Understanding Infertility Treatment
Infertility treatments include more than in vitro fertilization (IVF). If you’re looking for a different, guided approach to getting pregnant, a fertility specialist can review the treatment options available to you based on your medical history. This could include intrauterine inseminations (IUI), donor sperm, or the removal of endometriosis.
