In Honor of Nurses Week

In honor of Nurses Week, our Director of Clinical Services, who also has been a fertility nurse for over 30 years, shared this tribute to the nurses who take care of our patients. It describes the special relationship that our nurses develop with many of our patients.

You are not alone.

If you decide to continue the journey toward parenthood with us
I have some travel tips.

Always wear your seatbelts.
They keep you safe on a bumpy ride.

The road can be long.
There may be detours, roadblocks, and traffic jams along the way.

But always remember that you are not alone.
You have a travel companion who you may not see,
But she is with you every mile of the way, just out of eyesight,
But always ready to give you encouragement and directions,
To keep you on the right track.

She is your nurse.
She will travel with you until you reach your destination.
She hopes to give you the news one day that you have arrived,
Your pregnancy test is positive,
And the journey is over.

And if your journey ends at a different destination,
And your dream of pregnancy is not realized,
She hopes you look back on your travels without regret,
Knowing that you were in the company of someone who cared.

Meet Gina Paoletti-Falcone, RN, BSN

After more than 30 years as a fertility nurse, her passion for fertility nursing remains focused on educating and empowering patients to take an active role in their treatment and the critical role that fertility nurses play in their patients’ care. She is especially proud that FCNE has been recognized by ASRM as a Nursing Center of Excellence because the nursing staff is certified in REI nursing. The additional education that the course and certification exam provide ensures the highest standard of knowledge in caring for infertility patients. More about Gina.
