Dr. Hill Meets With the NH Senators

We are proud at the Fertility Centers of New England to provide affordable care, however many self pay patients still struggle financially to build their family.  Although, there is no current fertility legislation proposed in the New England States to help patients, New England residents can support a Federal Bill called the Family Act that was submitted to Congress in May.   This new bill, if approved, would provide a tax credit for patients seeking IVF treatment and give couples who otherwise could not afford the treatment an opportunity to have a family.   In our region, New Hampshire has seen significant activity around The Family Act.  Earlier this year, Dr. Joseph Hill met with staff from the office of U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) to discuss this important legislation.  On August 9th, U.S. Representative Charles Bass (NH-02) released a press statement highlighting his support of The Family Act.   Congressman Bass stated, “It is more important than ever to establish policies that are supportive of families, and I am happy to sponsor legislation that will help the millions of Americans who are hoping to start a family but have not been able to due to infertility.”  Finally, Dr. Joseph Hill recently met with a staff member from U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte’s office (R-NH) to discuss the importance of this legislation and we are hopeful that discussions will continue.

All patients are encouraged to contact their legislators and support the Family Act.  Information on how to contact your U.S. Senator or U.S. Representative can be found by clicking here. Now is the time to continue advocating for increased access to infertility treatment.   If you have any questions about the Fertility Centers of New England and our programs to help self pay patients, contact us today!
