Sonographer
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ultrasonographer to join our medical imaging team. As an Ultrasonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic evaluations using sonography techniques. This is a vital role in our healthcare facility, as you will play a key role in providing accurate and detailed imaging to aid in patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
LOCATIONS: The Fertility Centers of New England is seeking a Sonographer in our Massachusetts locations in Braintree and Dedham, as well as, Providence, Rhode Island.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be an OBGYN Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with the American Registry of Diagnostic Ultrasound (ARDMS). One year experience in Ob/Gyn sonography with a strong background specifically in infertility ultrasound preferred.
SCHEDULE:
This office is open for monitoring Monday through Saturday. This is a limited schedule position hours are 6:30 am to 8:30 am, the number of patients scheduled each day varies. You will be paid a 2 -hour minimum. Currently the shift typically runs for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. The expectation would be to scan all patients that are scheduled in the am for monitoring.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Baseline Gynecological Scan: Baseline trans-vaginal 2D and 3D ultrasound scan to ascertain a normal uterus and ovaries along with an antral follicle count (follicles between 2mm-10mm). The scan findings should correlate with the stage of the patient’s cycle and exclude pathologies. Reviews patient history and other supporting data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
- Treatment Scans: Scan to monitor ovarian follicles with 3D technology.
- Explains procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results, positions patient.
- Evaluates clarity and accuracy of ultrasound data.
- Maintains Infection Control Policies with regard to cleanliness of equipment and environment of the ultrasound work areas.
- Refers urgent or unusual cases to the referring physician or appropriate staff that needs immediate attention.
- Interprets the technical ultrasound data.
- Participates in ongoing continuing education and training to maintain current in areas of expertise.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
