Antonio Gargiulo, M.D.
Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Medical Director of Advanced Reproductive Surgery, ABOG Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
Before joining the Fertility Centers of New England, Dr. Gargiulo served as the founding medical director of the Robotic Surgery program of Brigham Health in 2010, and the founding director of American Society of Reproductive Medicine’s Surgical Scholar Track program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is also the medical director of the Center for Reproductive Care, and the founding medical director of the Robotic Surgery program at Exeter Hospital, in New Hampshire.

Dr. Gargiulo has been a Harvard Medical School full-time faculty in reproductive endocrinology and infertility for almost three decades and is nationally and internationally recognized for his pioneering scientific and clinical work in the field of robotic reproductive surgery. Dr. Gargiulo’s mastery extends beyond the operating room; he has lent his expertise as a technical consultant to top engineering teams, contributing to advancements in surgical lasers and robotic construction.
As a charter member of the Society for Robotic Surgery, with almost twenty years of trailblazing experience and over 2000 complex robotic surgery operations to his credit, Dr. Gargiulo practices with a special focus on radical endometriosis excision and the conservative treatment of complex uterine anomalies. Notably, he is internationally recognized as a foremost authority in robotic myomectomy, a testament to his pivotal role in its technological evolution. In recognition of the pioneering role in his specialty, Dr. Gargiulo was granted certified robotic surgeon status by the European Society of Gynecologic Robotic Surgery (SERGS).
Dr. Gargiulo is Board Certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (ABOG). He is the only surgeon in New England holding the special ABOG certificate of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Focused Practice Designation.
He is a career-long member of both the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Endocrinology (ESHRE), as well as the American Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopy (AAGL). He has won numerous awards and other accolades for his work presented at these societies. He has also organized and taught numerous national and international courses in Robotic Reproductive Surgery and has trained a generation of specialists in the minimally invasive surgical techniques he has developed.
Fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish, his multicultural background enriches his practice, fostering a heightened sense of cultural awareness and inclusivity. Dr. Gargiulo has been a long-time advocate for reproductive health equity for the Latino communities of New England.
